Sabbath School

Purpose:  Religious Education that builds the faith and lifestyle from Bible teachings.

  • Study the Word of God

  • Fellowship

  • Evangelism

  • World Mission

Personal study enriches the body, mind and spirit. We aim to encourage the study of the word in order to be prepared unto the Second Coming of Christ. In addition to personal study and preparation, teachers have a special 30 minutes study of the lesson each Sabbath morning to enhance their focus on God’s Word.

Motto: To Surrender to the Power and Will of the Holy Spirit, and to Walk With Him By Faith

The purpose of the Sabbath School is to make disciples for Christ. It includes the nurture of spiritual growth in members and prospective members, as well as the unchurched who join in the fellowship, study, sharing and service. The Sabbath School exists not only to minister to its members, but to train its members to minister to others. The Sabbath School is a school of Christian living, not just an event on Sabbath mornings.

Curriculum for study and discussion might include:

1. The Bible

2. The lesson quarterly

3. Books on spiritual growth

4. Video/DVD presentations

5. Contemporary issues and topics

The Sabbath School is convened in two segments--one for lesson study and the other for sharing thoughts and reports in a larger group setting.

Some choose to spend their full time in small groups where each group shares joys and concerns, studies the Bible and spends time in prayer.

Monica Goodridge, Sabbath School Superintendent
