Brooklyn Seventh-day Adventist® Church
Warm greetings from the Community
Services Department! Jesus reminds us in Matthew 25:40:
“Inasmuch as you have done it unto one of the least of these my
brethren, ye have done it unto me.”
Our mission is to first and foremost, reflect the character of God.
And in so doing, we seek to follow in the footsteps of Christ, using
his earthly ministry as our guide.
As Christ met the needs of His community, we believe it is also our
mission to address the physical, financial, and emotional issues
affecting people today.
As such, the Community Services Department has undertaken a variety
of ministries, each with the intent of displaying the love of Christ
through service. Through the distribution of bread, fresh fruits,
vegetables and other essentials, in addition to toys for
neighborhood children, we are determined to help everyone regardless
of race, religion or creed.
As we share these goods with the community, we believe we share with
them that the love of Jesus is nourishing, enriching, and healing.
Jesus’ example of feeding the multitude, spiritually and physically,
is what we strive to emulate.

Community Services Ministry Food Distribution Schedule
At Brooklyn Seventh-day Adventist Church our Bread Ministry is a
vital part of our community service. On Sabbath evenings, fresh
bread is offered to the immediate community and also to our church
members. On Sunday mornings, between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm, fresh
bread is distributed at two outposts: 4015 Church Avenue and also,
the corner of Ocean Avenue and Avenue O in Brooklyn.
God has been blessing this ministry. Community members are not only
given the physical food but tracts and literatures are given to
enrich their spiritual lives. As we share our faith, please pray
that God's Holy Spirit will impress lives as we offer them His Word,
the bread of Life.
Our Free Food Distribution program takes place every Thursday
evening from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm at 4015 Church Avenue.
This effort shows that the church is not only concerned about the
spiritual needs of the community but has a great interest in their
physical well-being. Jesus' admonition for us to show kindness to
"the least of the brethren" is our guide in this outreach venture.
May God continue to bless hearts and lives as they learn more of God
who gave His Son to offer unto us eternal life.
In December 2007, the church began its first annual toys
distribution program. We presented scores of toys to gleeful
neighborhood children. The Community Service Department
wishes to thank the Brooklyn Borough President’s office and other
faithful donors for their immense generosity.
Please pray that our mission of bringing joy and gladness to every
heart is realized, as we continue to make our presence felt in the
